Missing the point

Lion crossing road

On a visit to the Kruger National Park the other day, this lion crossed the road right in front of the car. Behind it, you can see other people on their self-drive safaris enjoying the sighting with me. This particular lion has lost the tip of its tail... one can only wonder how!

E-mail me if you are interested in arranging your own African safari. Or continue to read more about lions and see more pictures of them...

Contest Winner Announced

The time has come for the 2007 contest to draw to a close. The cut off date was 31 October 2007. The draw took place on 28 November and the winner was notified.

Congratulations to the 2007 winner: Liza van der Walt, a Graphic and Web Designer from Centurion, South Africa! She has won a wilderness walking safari of her choice in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.

We asked her a few short questions and it turns out she enjoys relaxing and also doing "something sporty", so I think a walking safari is just the perfect fit.

If you didn't yet get a chance to enter the African Safari Pictures contest yet, don't worry because the new one for 2008 has already started...
